SAN DIEGO, July 31 (UPI) -- Nick Hundley's late two-run double Tuesday lifted the San Diego Padres to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Cincinnati Reds.

Hundley broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning by sending his decisive hit down the leftfield line at Petco Park after Will Venable and Jedd Gyorko had reached base on back-to-back singles with one out.

Manny Parra (1-2) took the loss for the Reds after putting the lead run on base in the eighth. Jay Bruce and Devin Mesoraco drove in Cincinnati's two runs.

Dale Thayer (1-3) was credited with the win. Huston Street chalked up his 20th save.
