WASHINGTON, July 27 (UPI) -- Dan Haren
logged his first victory in 2 1/2 months Saturday and the Washington Nationals hit three homers in their 4-1 win over the New York Mets.
Haren (5-11) collected his first win since May 9 -- a span of 11 starts -- yielding one run on three hits. The veteran right-hander walked one and struck out six.
Tyler Clippard pitched a scoreless eighth and Rafael Soriano picked up his 26th save as the Nationals won a second straight after dropping the opener of their four-game series against New York.
Bryce Harper launched a two-run homer while Ian Desmond and Denard Span each added a solo shot for Washington.
Mets starter Dillon Gee (7-8) surrendered four runs on six hits in seven innings.
David Wright socked a bases-empty homer for New York.
