PHOENIX, July 27 (UPI) -- Randall Delgado threw the first shutout and first complete game of his career Friday, giving up three hits in Arizona's 10-0 drubbing of San Diego.

Aaron Hill had a pair of RBI doubles before the leaving the game and the Diamondbacks, who began the night a half game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers for the lead in the National League West, pounded out 17 hits.

Delgado (3-3) threw 100 pitches in what was the 32nd start of his three-year career. He walked one and struck out three.

Arizona scored twice in each of the first three innings with Hill contributing an RBI double in each of the first two frames. He was taken out of the game as a precaution with what the club said was a tight hamstring.

Arizona continue to pour it on with a three-run seventh that included a solo homer from Cody Ross and a two-run double by A.J. Pollock.

Eric Stuts (9-9) endured the loss, surrendering seven runs on 11 hits in five innings.
