OAKLAND, Calif., July 26 (UPI) -- Mike Trout drove in a run in each of back-to-back big innings for Los Angeles Thursday, launching the Angels to an 8-3 victory over Oakland.
Los Angeles trailed by a run through four, but the Angels scored seven times during the next two innings to take control.
Trout had a sacrifice fly in the fifth, an inning that also featured a two-run double by Mark Trumbo. A single by Trout delivered a run while the Angels were scoring three times in the sixth.
The outburst made a winner out of C.J. Wilson (11-6), who threw 123 pitches over seven innings. He gave up three runs on five hits and struck out six.
The loss went to Dan Straily (6-4), who gave up the first five Los Angeles runs on seven hits in 4 1/3.
