LOS ANGELES, July 26 (UPI) -- Mat Latos cooled off Los Angeles by allowing only one earned run through 7 2/3 innings Thursday, lifting Cincinnati to a 5-2 win over the Dodgers.

Los Angeles had a six-game winning streak come to an end and the Dodgers lost for just the sixth time in 29 games. They saw their recently obtained lead in the National League West cut to a half game over Arizona.

Latos (10-3) gave up eight hits and struck out four to win for the third time in four starts. With a run in, two away and Hanley Ramirez on first base, Latos was relieved by Manny Parra.

Parra retired the only man he faced and Aroldis Chapman came on in the ninth to pick up his 24th save.

Xavier Paul homered for the Reds in the first inning and Jay Bruce hit a two-run blast in the sixth that gave the Reds a 4-1 lead.

Both of the long balls came off Zack Greinke (8-3), who allowed four runs on six hits in seven innings to take the loss.
