UMAG, Croatia, July 26 (UPI) -- Fabio Fognini extended his winning streak to 12 matches with a quarterfinal victory over Martin Klizan Friday at the Croatia Open.

Fognini has won his last two tournaments in Stuttgart and Hamburg and has climbed into the Top 20 in the world rankings.

The Italian easily dispatched Klizan 6-4, 6-2 to set up a semifinal meeting with Gael Monfils, who defeated Albert Montanes 6-2, 5-7, 7-5.

The other semifinal match will send Andreas Seppi against Tommy Robredo.

Seppi had a 6-5 lead in the opening set when Horacio Zeballos retired with a muscle strain. Robredo breezed by Aljaz Bedene 6-1, 6-4.
