MLB: St. Louis 11, Philadelphia 3

ST. LOUIS, July 25 (UPI) -- A three-run triple by Shane Robinson highlighted a five-run fifth inning Wednesday that sent St. Louis storming past Philadelphia 11-3.

The Cardinals produced 16 hits in winning for the fifth time in six games.

Both Robinson and Matt Adams had three RBI in helping St. Louis build a 9-1 lead through five innings. Adams singled in two runs in the first and contributed an RBI double in the big fifth inning.

Jake Westbrook (7-4) coasted to the win, giving up three runs on nine hits in seven innings.

St. Louis roughed up John Lannan (2-4) for four runs on eight hits in four frames.

Philadelphia has lost four in a row, a streak in which the Phillies have managed only eight runs.
