MLB: Seattle 4, Cleveland 3

SEATTLE, July 24 (UPI) -- The Seattle Mariners extended their winning streak to eight games Tuesday by topping the visiting Cleveland Indians 4-3.

Erasmo Ramirez (1-0) pitched into the sixth to notch the victory and Kyle Seager tallied three hits and an RBI for the Mariners, who scored three runs in the third inning to close out the scoring.

Yoervis Medina and Tom Wilhelmsen held the Tribe scoreless in the 3 1/3 innings with Wilhelmsen closing it out in the ninth for his 23rd save.

Seager scored on a wild pitch by Zach McAllister (4-6) in the third inning with Mike Zunino at the plate. Zunino then promptly singled to bring Michael Saunders home from third with the Mariners' fourth run.

Johnny Gomes smacked a two-run homer for Cleveland in the second inning to put the Indians ahead 3-1. Cleveland lost for the fourth time in their last five games.
