HOUSTON, July 24 (UPI) -- Coco Crisp hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning Wednesday that lifted the Oakland Athletics to a 4-3 win over Houston.

It was the 13th time in their last 14 meetings that the A's beat the Astros. The lone exception was Tuesday night, when the Astros scored three times in the ninth for a 5-4 win.

Houston used a solo home run by Jose Altuve in the fourth inning and a two-run homer by Carlos Corporan in the sixth to take a 3-1 lead Wednesday.

Eric Sogard doubled off Houston starter Bud Norris with one out in the seventh, driving in Seth Smith, who had walked. Crisp greeted Norris' replacement, Travis Blackley (1-1) with a blast to left for his 10th homer of the season, giving Oakland a 4-3 lead.

A.J. Griffin (9-7) got the win with 6 1/3 innings of six-hit, three-run pitching. He struck out eight and didn't walk a batter.

Norris allowed four hits in 6 1/3 innings but he walked three. He struck out seven.

Five of the first six outs Norris recorded were strikeouts but he also allowed a first-inning, opposite-field home run to John Jaso.

Griffin retired the first eight batters he faced, striking out five in that span.
