TORONTO, July 23 (UPI) -- Adrian Gonzalez
and Andre Ethier
each homered in the eighth inning Tuesday, rallying and the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 10-9 interleague defeat of Toronto.
The Dodgers were trailing 8-6 entering the eighth, but Carl Crawford singled and Yasiel Puig drew a walk leading off the frame against Darren Oliver (3-2).
Gonzalez then connected for a three-run blast and Ethier followed with a solo shot one out later, putting Los Angeles ahead 10-8.
Each finished with three RBI, as did Mark Ellis, while Jerry Hairston Jr. added a bases-empty blast for the surging Dodgers, who stayed hot with a fifth straight win and 11th in 13 games.
They entered the contest with a half-game lead over Arizona in the National League West.
Brandon League (4-3) earned the decision but Kenley Jackson struggled in the ninth en route to his 12th save, yielding a run-scoring single to J.P. Arencibia (3-for-5) before Brett Lawrie sent a pitch to the centerfield fence, where it was hauled in for the final out.
Jose Reyes knocked in three runs, including a solo homer, and Jose Baustita added a bases-empty clout and an RBI single for the Blue Jays, who dropped a sixth straight.
