Pablo Andujar, Robin Haase and Victor Hanescu all had first-round wins over qualifiers while Guillermo Garcia-Lopez beat Adrian Ungur 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 6-1 and Daniel Gimeno-Traver stopped Kenny De Schepper 6-4, 6-4.
