MLS: Los Angeles 2, Vancouver 1

CARSON, Calif., July 21 (UPI) -- Gyasi Zardes' go-ahead goal in the 57th minute Saturday boosted the Los Angeles Galaxy over Vancouver 2-1.

With the score tied 1-1, the Galaxy rookie provided the decisive tally after getting behind the Vancouver defense where he received a pass from Todd Dunivant and put a shot past Brad Knighton.

Jose Villarreal also scored for Los Angeles (10-8-3), which climbed into third place in the Western Conference despite the injury absence of captain Robbie Keane.

Camilo scored for the Whitecaps (9-6-5), who fell to fourth in the West.
