Recari's late surge resulted in a round of 4-under 67, matching Creamer's 67 and leaving both players in a tie for first place at 12-under 201.
Recari and Creamer -- who shared the second-round lead with Alison Walshe -- were three-shot ahead of Lexi Thompson (67), Chie Arimura (68) and Jacqui Concolino (69) at Highland Meadows Golf Club.
Jodi Ewart Shadoff (68), Chella Choi (66) and Jennifer Johnson (66) were tied for sixth at 8-under 205.
Hee Young Park (67) and Mo Martin (68) were tied for ninth at 7-under.
Walshe stumbled to a 73, ending the day tied for 11th place in a group of nine players that included defending champion So Yeon Ryu (70).
Top-ranked Inbee Park also registered a 73, and was tied for 23rd.
