Cano, the Yankees' only position player on the All-Star roster, was struck by a fastball thrown by Matt Harvey of the New York Mets that was clocked at 96 miles per hour.
The incident came in the first inning on Harvey's third pitch of the contest.
Cano eventually walked to first base, but one out later left the game and was replaced by Boston's Dustin Pedroia. X-rays were negative.
"I'll be ready for Friday," the Yankees' next scheduled game, Cano said later in a television interview conducted in the American League's dugout.
Cano has batted .302 in 95 games this season with 21 home runs and 65 RBI.
