July 15 (UPI) -- He's already a champion soccer star and a national hero, but Ronaldo appears poised to shape himself into a media mogul and soft porn magnate.

The Brazilian footballer is reportedly interested in buying the national rights to Playboy magazine through his 9INE marketing firm.

The softcore porn magazine is Brazil's tenth-best selling publication, and Brazil is the magazine's third-largest national market, but monthly sales have fallen hard over the past decade. Sources say Ronaldo sees the purchase as a lucrative business opportunity, and his 'midas touch' makes him just the man to bolster flagging readership.

Despite his 2011 retirement, Ronaldo still maintains endorsement deals, and owns a chain of gyms, a sports health clinic, a nightclub, and millions in real estate.
