SAN DIEGO, July 14 (UPI) -- Tim Lincecum threw his first career no-hitter Saturday, tossing 148 pitches in the San Francisco Giants' 9-0 rout of San Diego.

Lincecum (5-9), a two-time Cy Young Award winner, issued four walks and struck out 13 in the effort, accomplishing the seventh no-hitter in Giants history and only the second on the road.

In the ninth, Lincecum fanned Chase Headley, then induced both Carlos Quentin Yonder Alonso to fly out to left-fielder Gregor Blanco. His pitch count was the second-highest for any no-hitter in major league history, trailing only Edwin Jackson's 149 pitches in a 2010 effort.

Right-fielder Hunter Pence kept the gem alive with a diving catch of an Alexi Amarista bullet to end the eighth inning.

Pence also led San Francisco at the plate, driving in five runs with a solo homer, a bases-clearing triple and a run-scoring groundout.

Brandon Belt smacked a two-run homer en route to three RBI for the Giants, who notched their third straight win over San Diego.

The Padres' Edinson Volquez (6-8) was roughed up for eight runs on nine hits over five innings as San Diego fell for the 14th time in 15 contests.
