NEW YORK, July 13 (UPI) -- Samuel Deduno yielded just one run over seven innings Saturday and the Minnesota Twins broke a six-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over the New York Yankees.

Deduno (5-4) allowed six hits and three walks while striking out six for the Twins, who hadn't beaten the Yankees since last season and won for only second time in 12 games overall.

Ryan Doumit lined a tie-breaking solo homer in the seventh inning and Pedro Florimon added a two-run shot in the eighth as Minnesota evened its three-game series.

Phil Hughes (4-9) struck out 10 over 7 1/3 innings but was still saddled with the loss, surrendering four runs on five hits and a walk.

Robinson Cano got the only RBI for New York, which fell for the first time in four games.
