CHICAGO, July 10 (UPI) -- Josh Hamilton homered during both of the big Los Angeles innings Wednesday, helping power the Angels to a 13-2 thrashing of the Chicago Cubs.
Los Angeles scored five times in the first and six times in the fifth to bounce back from a 7-2 loss to the Cubs on Tuesday and win for the 11th time in 14 games.
Hamilton has slowly been emerging from what had been a season-long slump and he was still batting just .227 coming into Wednesday's game. He finished the contest with five RBI, running his total to 39 for the year
He hit a three-run homer in the first inning after Mike Trout had produced an RBI double and before Mark Trumbo hit a solo shot.
