MLB: Cleveland 3, Toronto 0

CLEVELAND, July 9 (UPI) -- Ubaldo Jimenez and three relievers combined on an eight-hit shutout Tuesday and the Cleveland Indians needed just four hits to dispatch Toronto 3-0.

Jimenez (7-4) stretched his unbeaten streak to six starts, baffling the Blue Jays on five hits over six innings, walking two and striking out four.

Cody Allen and Joe Smith each hurled a scoreless relief frame and Chris Perez finished up with his 10th save as the Indians took the opener of a three-game series.

Asdrubal Cabrera, Nick Swisher and Michael Brantley each drove in a run for the Tribe.

Toronto's Josh Johnson (1-4) absorbed the loss despite yielding just two runs on three hits over seven strong innings. He walked two and fanned six.
