Lawrence Taylor Jr. arrested, charged with statutory rape, molestation

MARIETTA, Ga., July 8 (UPI) -- Lawrence Taylor Jr., son of former NFL star Lawrence Taylor, was arrested on charges of rape and sodomy, the Cobb County (Ga.) Sheriff's Office said.

Taylor Jr., 31, was arrested Sunday and charged with statutory rape, aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy and held without bond, WGCL-TV, Atlanta, reported.

His father, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and former New York Giants linebacker, was charged with the rape of a 16-year-old runaway in 2010, ESPN noted.
