DALLAS, July 8 (UPI) -- Dallas Cowboys lineman Josh Brent has been released from jail, less than two weeks after he was reincarcerated for failing a drug test, officials said.

Brent was released on a court order early Sunday, the Dallas Morning News reported.

He is currently charged with intoxication manslaughter for the Dec. 8 single-car crash that killed fellow Cowboy Jerry Brown.

Authorities said Brent had a blood-alcohol level of twice the legal limit for driving that night

Brent had been out on bond until he was sent back to jail June 27 for failing a June 19 drug test and his bond was declared insufficient.

George Milner, Brent's attorney, said he plans on requesting a gag order against District Attorney Craig Watkins, who said during a radio interview that Brent "needs to go to prison."
