FREDERICK, Md., July 7 (UPI) -- A male member of the Baltimore Ravens cheerleading squad was killed in a motorcycle accident near Frederick, Md., police said.

Dion Bagby, 27, Vienna, Va., died Friday when a car turned into the path of his motorcycle on Route 15.

The Baltimore Sun said the Oklahoma native had earned a spot on the Ravens co-ed cheerleading stunt team in March and was on his way to a summer cheerleading-gymnastics camp in Pennsylvania where he worked as a coach.

"This is such sad news and the entire Ravens family is in mourning over Dion's passing," the team said in a written statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Dion's family and friends."
