MLB: Detroit 9, Cleveland 4

CLEVELAND, July 6 (UPI) -- Torii Hunter went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI Saturday, sparking the streaking Detroit Tigers over Cleveland 9-4.

Hunter's RBI double capped a three-run fourth inning that broke the contest open and turned the game into a rout with a sixth-inning clout.

Miguel Cabrera blasted his 27th homer of the season, a two-run shot, and Prince Fielder also went deep for American League Central-leading Detroit, which reeled off a fifth straight victory.

Anibal Sanchez (7-5) was sharp after coming off the disabled list with a shoulder strain, holding the Indians to one run on three hits over five innings. He walked one and struck out four.

Tribe starter Carlos Carrasco (0-4) was lit up for seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits over just 3 1/3 frames.

Nick Swisher and Ryan Raburn homered for second-place Cleveland, which fell 3 1/2 games behind the Tigers with a fourth straight defeat.
