FRISCO, Texas, July 4 (UPI) -- Raul Fernandez made seven saves Thursday to help make up for a sluggish offense and preserve a 0-0 tie for Dallas against Chivas USA.

Chivas is buried in last place in the Western Conference but carried the play to a Dallas team that has suffered just three losses in 18 games this season.

Dallas produced only one shot on goal for the entire game, that coming from Blas Perez, and Dan Kennedy turned it aside to earn Chivas a point on the road.

Chivas is 3-10-4 for the season and is eight points behind San Jose for eighth place in the West. Dallas (8-3-7) trails Western Conference-leading Real Salt Lake by 3 points.
