Anders Hansen takes first-round lead at French Open

PARIS, July 4 (UPI) -- Anderson Hansen shot a 5-under 66 Thursday to take the first-round lead at the French Open.

Roman Wattel shot a 66 and was alone in second place after one round at the Albatross Course in Paris.

Thomas Bjorn, Stephen Gallacher, Richard Sterne, Martin Kaymer, Felipe Aguilar, Victor Dubuisson, Fabrizio Zanotti, Tano Goya and Matthew Nixon all shot 3-under 68 to finish the round tied for third.

Twelve players were tied for 12th at 69.
