Hernandez, 23, has been charged with killing Odin Lloyd, 26. Lloyd's body was found in an industrial park in North Attleborough, Mass., not far from Hernandez's home.
In addition to his house in North Attleborough, Hernandez rents a condominium in Franklin, about 10 miles away, The (Attleboro) Sun Chronicle reported.
In a search warrant affidavit, a police detective said clothing found there included a hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap like those allegedly seen on Hernandez in surveillance camera footage the night Lloyd died.
"The white sweatshirt could be used to assist in linking Hernandez to the scene of the crime," Trooper Michael Bates, a state police detective assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, said. "The baseball hat could help provide the whereabouts of Hernandez on the Friday night before the homicide. This night, in particular, is a critical aspect in the timeline of events leading up to the homicide."
Investigators say a potential witness in the case was killed Sunday in a crash in Connecticut, The (Hartford) Courant reported. Thaddeus Singleton III, 33, of Bristol, Conn., was driving a Nissan Maxima registered to his father-in-law, who happens to be Hernandez's uncle, when he lost control of the vehicle in Farmington.
Massachusetts detectives said they planned to interview Singleton because of his history of drug convictions and his relationship to Hernandez. Carlos Ortiz, another suspect in the Lloyd shooting, often stayed with Singleton, police said.
