LOS ANGELES, July 3 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles judge has sentenced Former Major League Baseball player Milton Bradley to nearly three years in jail for attacks and threats against his wife.
Bradley, who played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and seven other MLB teams, was convicted last month on nine counts of spousal battery and other charges. He was sentenced this week to two years and eight months in Los Angeles County jail.
The sentence includes coaching youth baseball as part of 400 total hours of community service, the Los Angeles Times said.
The Bradleys have been married for five years but are separated, city prosecutors said. Bradley has a restraining order against him and was ordered by the court to stay away from his estranged wife and her parents.
Los Angeles prosecutors charged Bradley for five separate incidents in which he attacked his wife or threatened her with weapons, including a baseball bat.
