EASTBOURNE, England, June 22 (UPI) -- Elena Vesnina picked up her second WTA title of the year Saturday when she beat Jamie Hampton 6-2, 6-1 in the final at the Aegon International in England.

The final featured the unseeded Vesnina going against a qualifier in Hampton, although they are only five spots -- 36th and 41st, respectively -- apart in the rankings.

Vesnina was in control throughout the match, winning 63 percent of the points on serve and half of the points when Hampton served. Vesnina saved all five break opportunities for Hampton while converting four of her own seven break chances.

Vesnina had dropped her first six title match appearances before winning in Hobart, Australia, in January. The Aegon International title was worth $117,000 and pushed Vesnina's career winnings to more than $4.5 million.

Hampton reached her first championship match by beating world No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska in the first round and ninth-ranked Caroline Wozniacki in the semifinals this week. She took home $62,300 as the Aegon International runner-up.
