NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass., June 22 (UPI) -- Police with dogs entered the home of New England Patriots receiver Aaron Hernandez to carry out a search Saturday.

The Boston Globe reported North Attleboro, Mass., police brought in a pry bar and were later followed by a locksmith while officers directed traffic around the scene and neighbors and reporters gathered to watch.

An arrest warrant was issued for Hernandez Friday in the investigation of the slaying of Odin Lloyd, 27, of Dorchester, Mass., WBZ-AM, Boston, reported.

The broadcaster, citing unnamed law enforcement sources, said Hernandez faces arrest for obstruction of justice in the investigation into the shooting death of Lloyd, a semi-pro football player who was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee.

He was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head Monday in a North Attleboro field about a half mile from Hernandez's home.

The source said the charges could be upgraded as the investigation proceeds.

Lloyd had been driving a sport utility vehicle rented in Hernandez's name.

An investigator close to the probe said Hernandez was found to have destroyed his home security system, including video surveillance equipment, ABC News reported.
