OMAHA, June 21 (UPI) -- Grant Watson threw six shutout innings Friday to help push UCLA into college baseball's championship series with a 4-1 victory over North Carolina.

UCLA will meet Mississippi State Monday in the opener of a best-of-three showdown that will determine the winner of the College World Series.

Mississippi State earned its spot in the title series earlier in the day by downing Oregon State 4-1.

UCLA completed an unbeaten march through its half of the bracket in the double-elimination tournament -- defeating LSU, North Carolina State and North Carolina to set up its opportunity for a national crown.

The Bruins had to survive a shaky ninth, in which the Tar Heels scored their only run and left the bases loaded. Landon Lassiter flew out to center against David Berg to end the game.

Watson allowed four hits and struck out three to get the victory.

Cody Regis singled home the Bruins' first run in the second and Kevin Williams delivered an RBI base hit in the sixth.

UCLA built its lead to 4-0 in the seventh on a double by Pat Valaika that brought home two runs.
