CARSON, Calif., June 20 (UPI) -- Donovan Ricketts made four saves Wednesday to preserve Portland's 0-0 tie with Los Angeles and extend the Timbers' unbeaten streak to 14 games.

Portland has gone 6-0-8 in those 14 games. The Timbers' last loss was a 2-1 decision against Montreal on March 9. Portland improved to 6-1-9 for the season and is one point behind Dallas for first place in the Western Conference.

Los Angeles is 6-6-3 and finds itself tied for fifth place with Seattle.

The Galaxy had the best scoring chance, which came in the 55th minute when Sean Franklin's shot hit the base of the post. The ball bounced back into play, but Ricketts was able to sweep it aside.
