BIRMINGHAM, England, June 16 (UPI) -- Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova collected her sixth career WTA Tour victory Sunday, besting Croatian teenager Donna Vekic at the Aegon Classic.
Hantuchova needed a first-set tiebreaker but then went on to a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 triumph at Edgbaston Priory Club in the grass-court Wimbledon tune-up.

The Slovakian veteran -- who was runner-up in Birmingham in 2011 -- improved to 6-9 all-time in finals, notching her first victory since last year in Pattaya City.
Vekic, 16, fell to 0-2 in finals, coming up a bit short in her quest to become the WTA's youngest-ever tournament champion.
She also fell in last year in the finals of the Tashkent, Uzbekistan event.
