KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 9 (UPI) -- Alex Gordon drove in Chris Getz with the go-ahead run in the eighth inning Sunday and the Kansas City Royals beat Houston 2-0 to complete a three-game sweep.

Getz collected a one-out single in the eighth against Hector Ambriz (1-3), stole second and scored the go-ahead run when Gordon lined a single to center field. Gordon took third on center fielder Trevor Crowe's throwing error on the play and then scored an insurance run when Eric Hosmer followed with a base hit.

Reliever Aaron Crow (2-1) was credited with the victory after Royals starter Luis Mendoza had tossed seven shutout innings, taming the Astros on four hits while walking one and striking out three.

Houston's Lucas Harrell fired seven scoreless frames, giving up just two hits while issuing three walks and striking out one.
