Jimmie Johnson scores a Pocono Raceway Sprint Cup victory

June 9, 2013 at 6:29 PM

LONG POND, Pa., June 9 (UPI) -- Pole-sitter Jimmie Johnson led for 128 of 160 laps and held off Greg Biffle down the stretch Sunday to register a victory at Pocono Raceway.

Johnson finished 1.21 seconds ahead of Biffle to claim the 400-mile Sprint Cup event, racking up his 63rd career victory and his third all-time at the 2.5-mile Pocono track.

The victory came a week after Johnson missed a chance to collect a triumph at Dover when he was hit with a pass-through penalty with 19 laps to go.

Hendrick Motorsports teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. came in third, followed by Stewart-Haas Racing teammates Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman.
