Police found marijuana in Indians reliever Chris Perez' home?

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio, June 5 (UPI) -- Police in Rocky River, Ohio, said Wednesday they raided the home of Cleveland Indians reliever Chris Perez and came away with what they suspect is marijuana.

Rocky River Police Chief Kelly Stillman said neither Perez nor his wife were arrested, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported.

The newspaper said the chief would not say what was taken from the rental property during the raid Tuesday, but the department issued a release later saying the substance was suspected to be marijuana.

The chief said the material would be tested before a decision was made on any charges.

Stillman said the raid was triggered by the delivery of a suspicious package to the residence. He said U.S. postal inspectors and the West Shore Enforcement Bureau assisted his officers in the search.

Stillman said there had been other police calls to the house in the past decade, but none of them were made while Perez and his wife lived there.
