ANAHEIM, Calif., June 5 (UPI) -- Anthony Rizzo doubled home three runs in the 10th inning Wednesday to bring the Chicago Cubs an 8-6 decision over the Los Angeles Angels.
Chicago had lost three in a row but overcame a three-run deficit in this one and managed to survive a home run in the eighth by Mark Trumbo that brought about extra innings.
Dioner Navarro was on first with two away in the 10th when Roberto Coello (2-2) gave up a single to Darwin Barney. Luis Valbuena drew a walk and Rizzo followed with a double to right on a 2-1 pitch that cleared the bases.
Kevin Gregg (2-0) worked the final 1 1/3 innings to get the win. He gave up Trumbo's second homer of the game in the bottom of the 10th and then put two runners on with two out before striking out Hank Conger to end the game.
