MLB: Kansas City 4, Texas 1 (10 innings)

ARLINGTON, Texas, June 1 (UPI) -- Robbie Ross hit David Lough with a pitch to force in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning Saturday and the Kansas City Royals went on to down Texas 4-1.

With the score tied 1-1 and none out in the 10th, Ross (2-1) yielded singles to Alcides Escobar and Eric Hosmer (3-for-5), then issued an intentional walk to Billy Butler, loading the bases.

After Mike Moustakas and Lorenzo Cain each struck out, Ross fired a pitch off Lough's shoulder, forcing in Escobar with the go-ahead run.

George Kottaras then iced the victory with a two-run double and the Royals evened their three-game series.

Aaron Crow (1-1) earned the decision with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief and Greg Holland notched his ninth save for Kansas City.

Mitch Moreland recorded the only RBI for American League West-leading Texas.
