MLB: San Francisco at St. Louis, ppd., weather threat

May 31, 2013 at 9:46 PM   |   Comments

ST. LOUIS, May 31 (UPI) -- The scheduled game between San Francisco and St. Louis was postponed Friday due to the threat of severe weather.

With potentially violent thunderstorms bearing down on St. Louis, it was decided the game would be played Saturday as part of a day-night doubleheader. The opener will begin at 12:15 p.m. CDT with the evening contest to begin at 6:15 p.m.

The postponement gave members of the Cardinals a much-needed rest. They took part in a game against Kansas City that began Thursday evening and did not end until 3:14 a.m. Friday.
