LOS ANGELES, May 28 (UPI) -- Adrian Gonzalez went 4-for-4 with an RBI Monday and the Los Angeles Dodgers edged the Los Angeles Angels 8-7 in a seesaw interleague contest.

Trailing 6-1 in the fourth inning, the Dodgers scored the next six runs -- including a run-scoring single from Gonzalez -- to grab a 7-6 advantage in the sixth.

The Angels, however, forged a 7-7 deadlock in the top of the seventh when Howie Kendrick singled home Josh Hamilton.

In the next half-inning, Gonzalez collected a one-out single off Robert Coello (1-1) and later went to second when pinch-hitter Andre Ethier drew a walk.

That brought up Jerry Hairston Jr., who served a two-out hit to center field as Gonzalez scored for the fourth time in the contest.

Mark Ellis and Scott Van Slyke each drove in a pair of runs for the Dodgers, who took the opener of a four-game home-and-home rivalry series.

Ronald Belisario (3-4) retired the final two batters of the seventh to earn the win and Brandon League tossed a scoreless ninth for his 11th save.

Kendrick went 3-for-5 with two RBI Albert Pujols added three hits with a sacrifice fly as the Angels saw their eight-game winning streak snapped.
