WASHINGTON, May 24 (UPI) -- Kurt Suzuki's RBI single put Washington in front during a four-run fifth inning Friday and the Nationals went on to down Philadelphia 5-2.

Jordan Zimmermann bounced back from a hard-luck loss last Saturday that ended a personal four-game winning streak to dominate the Phillies n a seven-inning effort.

Zimmermann (8-2) allowed only one earned run in the loss to San Diego six days ago. He got the win against the Phillies by limiting them to two runs on six hits without a walk.

The Nationals faced a 2-1 deficit heading into the bottom of the fifth, but Adam LaRoche tripled with one out to bring home Ryan Zimmerman from first with the tying run. Suzuki's two-out hit delivered LaRoche, Tyler Moore reached on an infield single and Stephen Lombardozzi then doubled home both runners to account for the final score.

Tyler Clippard relived Zimmermann in the eighth and pitched a perfect inning. Rafael Soriano came on in the ninth to collect his 14th save.

The loss went to Kyle Kendrick (4-3), who was charged with all five runs on eight hits and four walks in five innings.
