Harbaugh to drive Indianapolis 500 pace car

INDIANAPOLIS, May 22 (UPI) -- San Francisco 49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh will drive the ceremonial pace car at Sunday's Indianapolis 500, race organizers announced.

Harbaugh, 49, a former Indianapolis Colts quarterback and co-owner of Panther Racing, based in Indianapolis, will lead the 33 competing cars in a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, The Indianapolis Star reported Wednesday.

"I already had a dream about it. I know my heart is going to be beating out of my chest," he said.

Panther Racing will have three cars, driven by J.R. Hildebrand, Townsend Bell and Oriol Servia, in the race.
