MLS: Colorado 1, San Jose 1 (tie)

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 19 (UPI) -- Marvin Chavez popped in a goal in the 78th minute Saturday, drawing the San Jose Earthquake into a 1-1 draw with Colorado.

Chavez, who was playing after the MLS upheld his appeal of a two-game suspension, scored the equalizer on a free kick that cleanly beat Colorado goalkeeper Clint Irwin.

San Jose (3-4-6) extended its home unbeaten streak to seven games with the result.

Nathan Sturgis tallied in the 26th minute for the Rapids (4-4-4).
