Voyonov scored on a slap shot late in the first period to open the scoring and then assisted on Mike Richards' tip-in goal at 12:30 of the second period.

It was all Quick from then on. Quick foiled three San Jose power plays during the course of the game and stood tall as the Sharks outshot the Kings 16-4 in the third period.

Antii Niemi turned away 18-of-20 shots and weathered the Kings' single power play.

The series resumes in Los Angeles Thursday.
