PITTSBURGH, May 15 (UPI) -- Neil Walker broke a scoreless tie with a two-run single in the sixth Wednesday and Pittsburgh held on to defeat Milwaukee 3-1.

Wandy Rodriguez allowed a lone run over seven innings to give the Pirates their second win in a four-game series that concludes Thursday. It was Pittsburgh's fifth victory in six games overall.

Rodriguez (4-2) struck out five and surrendered six hits, one of them a homer by Rickie Weeks in the seventh. Weeks, however, committed a throwing error at second base in the eighth that allowed Pittsburgh's final run to score.

Yovani Gallardo (3-3) took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in six innings. Jason Grilli worked a perfect ninth to collect his 16th save.
