LOS ANGELES, May 15 (UPI) -- Clayton Kershaw missed a complete game by one out Tuesday while leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 2-0 victory over the visiting Washington Nationals.

Kershaw (4-2) lasted 8 2/3 innings and threw 132 pitches. He struck out 11 and allowed five hits before turning the ball over to Kenley Johnson, who picked up his second save.

Andre Ethier drove in both runs for the Dodgers with a two-out single in the third inning off Dan Haren (4-4).

Haren hit Kershaw to lead off the inning and also gave up a wild pitch that sent Kershaw from second to third base. Haren allowed two runs on four hits over seven innings.

Ryan Zimmerman went 3-for-4 for the Nationals, who were 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position.
