U.S. District Judge Renee Marie Bumb, in a hearing Tuesday, said the case would be heard in federal court in Camden, N.J., the Philadelphia Daily News reported. She set the trial to begin June 17.
Bumb also said there would be a mediation hearing Friday in Camden. Neither Bryant nor his mother has said they would show.
Bryant's mother, Pamela, put items from his days as a star at Lower Merion High School in Pennsylvania up for auction at Goldin Auctions in West Berlin, N.J. Bryant then had his lawyers send a cease-and-desist letter.
"I said, 'Mom, you know I never told you that you could have the memorabilia,'" Kobe Bryant said. "Her response was, 'Yes, but you never said you wanted it, either.'"
Kobe Bryant's father, a former high school basketball coach, is coaching in Thailand. Pamela Bryant is with him.
"I didn't even know there was a team in Thailand, but apparently they're in the playoffs," her lawyer, Jeffrey Cohen, of Cherry Hill, N.J., told the News.
