CHICAGO, May 14 (UPI) -- Carlos Gonzalez blasted two solo home runs and went 5-for-5 in the Colorado Rockies' 9-4 defeat of the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field Tuesday.

Gonzalez, who also doubled and singled twice, batted third in the lineup ahead of cleanup hitter Troy Tulowitzki, who went 3-for-5 and drove in a run.

The Rockies had lost five of their previous six games but erupted for 17 hits Tuesday and got a solid start from Jeff Francis (2-3), who allowed one run in six innings.
