MLS: Vancouver 3, Los Angeles 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 11 (UPI) -- Russell Teibert scored goals 13 minutes apart in the second half Saturday, staking the Vancouver Whitecaps to a 3-1 triumph over Los Angeles.

Teibert broke a scoreless tie in the 63rd minute, firing in a left-footed shot into the bottom left corner from just outside the penalty area off an assist by Nigel Reo-Coker.

Then in the 76th minute, Gershon Koffie got on control of the ball just outside the box and set up an onrushing Teibert, who knocked it in to double the advantage.

Darren Mattocks added an insurance goal in stoppage time for Vancouver (3-4-3).

Gyasi Zardes scored for the Galaxy (4-3-2).
