BALTIMORE, May 7 (UPI) -- Matt Wieters drove in three runs, including a go-ahead RBI double in the eighth inning, propelling the Baltimore Orioles over Kansas City 4-3 Tuesday.
Wieters' two-run double in the first inning put the Orioles up 3-0, but the Royals scored the next three runs to tie the contest.
Then in the eighth, Andrew Jones drew a lead-off walk against Tim Collins (1-1). One out later Luke Hochevar came in to pitch and Jones went to second on his errant pick-off throw.
Wieters followed by slicing a 1-1 pitch into left field, where it landed barely fair and chased home Jones with the decisive tally.
The big hit made a winner of Tommy Hunter (2-1), who tossed 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, and Jim Johnson racked up his 12th save as Baltimore won a third straight.
Alex Gordon went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer for the Royals.
