ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 6 (UPI) -- J.P. Arencibia smacked a go-ahead two-run homer in the ninth inning Monday and the Toronto Blue Jays overcame a seven-run deficit to stun Tampa Bay 8-7.

The Blue Jays trailed 7-0 in third inning but chipped away at the deficit, scoring three in fourth -- with two coming on a Colby Rasmus homer -- and two more in the sixth on Mark DeRosa's long ball.

Toronto cut the deficit to 7-6 in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Jose Bautista.

Then in the ninth, Adam Lind drew a lead-off walk from Fernando Rodney (1-1) and was replaced by pinch-runner Emilio Bonifacio. Two outs later, Arencibia lined a 2-2 pitch into the left-field stands to cap the comeback.

The rally made a winner of Darren Oliver (1-1) and Casey Janssen recorded a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth for his eighth save as the Blue Jays won a second straight.

Evan Longoria cracked a grand slam and Luke Scott added a two-run shot during a seven-run third inning for the Rays, who dropped the first of a four-game series.
